 Part 1: Help Your Teammates to Develop Capstone Ideas

During our recent team meeting, we brainstormed a variety of potential capstone ideas. Some of the suggestions included developing a mobile application that promotes mental health awareness, creating a machine learning model to predict energy consumption patterns, and designing a cybersecurity tool for small businesses. We discussed the feasibility, impact, and scope of each project. One idea that really stood out to me was the cybersecurity tool, as it feels highly relevant and offers practical applications. The team showed a lot of enthusiasm, and we agreed to conduct more research on this topic so we could be better prepared when we do have to make the final decision. We thought of some more ideas that will be discussed in our next meeting as well!

Part 2: Keep Up With Your Learning Journal

This week, I learned a lot from the activities, especially from the career guide which emphasized the importance of networking and continuous skill development in the tech field. It made me realize how valuable it is to build connections early and stay updated with industry trends. In terms of our team progress, we have started narrowing down our final presentation project ideas based on the discussions we had. We landed on the topic of the Deepfake Dilemma. We are currently dividing research tasks among team members to better evaluate the feasibility of this topic. This approach not only helps us stay organized but also ensures that everyone contributes meaningfully to the project’s development. We look forward to proceeding forward with our selected topic!

Week 2 - Second week of class!

Part 1: Review and Reflect Learning Strategy The top three items that I am good at is making a schedule, picking good study habits, and taking good notes. The top three items that I feel I am weak in is test taking, essay examinations, and not reading aloud to myself. I always try to follow the same schedule each week because I am a habitual person. I find repetition and using flash cards to help me study. I love taking notes, it helps me retain more information. I struggle in a testing environment because I get in my head, which is the same struggle when it comes to essay examinations. I enjoy reading my work or assignments out to myself because I feel like I do retain more, but I will try reading in my head to see if I benefit from this! Week 4 - Interview with Industry Expert

Interview with Josh Hobson:      For this assignment I chose to interview my uncle, Josh Hobson, the current Direct of Technology at Santa Monica Studios, a well-known video game development company. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from California State University, Bakersfield, and a Master’s in Engineering from Arizona State University. I chose to interview him not only because of his many accomplishments, but because I have always admired his passion for technology and his creative mind.
